No Conversations on New Stadium

There have been no conversations in the past year concerning a new stadium.  That is according to Howard Zemsky, CEO of Empire State Development and a member of the Erie County Stadium Corp.  The current lease on New Era Field runs through 2023.  The Bills recently spent $4.3 million to construct an all-turf practice field adjacent to Ralph Wilson fieldhouse.  It is unclear what the Pegulas long term intentions are concerning a stadium.  THE POLITICALLY CHARGED STADIUM ISSUE WILL ULTIMATELY BE DECIDED BY TERRY AND KIM PEGULA.  A NEW STADIUM, IDEALLY DOWNTOWN, WOULD BE A MAJOR CATALYST FOR REGIONAL RENEWAL.  LOOKING FOR GUIDANCE FROM THE OWNERS, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

Tyrod Taylor is reportedly unwilling to restructure his contract.  The Bills quarterback is owed over $30 million in March.  Taylor and his agent feel he can command a comparable or enhanced deal in the open market.  He may be about to part company with Buffalo.  TAYLOR’S RIDICULOUS CONTRACT IS THE FAULT OF THE DYSFUNCTIONAL BILLS FRONT OFFICE.  BUFFALO WILL BE BETTER OFF WITHOUT HIM.  HIS PLAY HAS BEEN AT BEST MEDIOCRE IN 2 SEASONS HERE.  HOPING THAT THE PEGULAS HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS COSTLY AND EMBARRASSING BLUNDER, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

ESPN has termed Tony Romo a long shot to join the Bills.  A dozen teams are reportedly vying for the Dallas star.  At 37 Romo has a few years left to play.  He is said to want to join a playoff contender.  The national perception of front office turmoil in Buffalo diminishes our chances.  Parting ways with Tyrod Taylor would give the Bills salary cap room to pay Romo’s salary.  BUFFALO NEEDS A VETERAN QUARTERBACK TO ANCHOR THE OFFENSE WHILE DEVELOPING A YOUNG REPLACEMENT.  TONY ROMO IS SUCH AN EXPERIENCED PRO.  WITH SUPPORT FOR THE REBUILDING PROGRAM, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

Sean McDermott has rounded out the coaching staff.  The Bills head coach has assembled his assistant coaches.  In all there are 25 coaches under McDermott.  Danny Crossman on special teams is the only holdover from the Rex Ryan era.  McDERMOTT HAS GONE WITH EXPERIENCE IN SELECTING HIS ASSISTANTS.  THEY COMPLEMENT HIS YOUTH AS A NEW HEAD COACH.  WITH CONFIDENCE IN THEIR ABILITY TO LEAD, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

The Bills have named Gill Byrd the defensive backs coach.  The 4 time All Pro played for the Chargers.  He has coached cornerbacks for the Buccaneers, Bears, and Rams.  He is the father of safety Jairus Byrd, who played 5 seasons for Buffalo.  COACH SEAN McDERMOTT CONTINUES TO SELECT HIGHLY EXPERIENCED ASSISTANTS.  HE HAS ASSEMBLED AN IMPRESSIVE STAFF OF DEPUTIES TO HELP TURN THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM AROUND.  LOOKING FORWARD TO PROGRESS ON THE FIELD, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

The Bills season ticket prices will remain unchanged in 2017.  The announcement was made via email to season ticket holders.  Buffalo ticket prices are among the 5 lowest in the league.  This is attributable to the local economy and the playoff drought, which now extends to 17 years.  MANAGEMENT IS REALISTIC IN KEEPING TICKET PRICES THE SAME.  BILLS FANS DESERVE THIS CONSIDERATION GIVEN THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT.  AS THE TEAM’S FORTUNES IMPROVE ON FIELD, SO TOO CAN THE COST OF ATTENDANCE.  UNITED IN COMMON PURPOSE, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

The Patriots staged the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history to beat the Falcons 34 – 28.  It was a stunning personal performance for quarterback Tom Brady, who threw for a record 466 yards   He was named Super Bowl MVP for the fourth time.  After trailing badly in the first half, New England put up 25 unanswered points, putting the contest into overtime for the first time.  Running back James White scored the winning touchdown on a 2 yard run.  THE PATRIOTS HAVE ESTABLISHED THEMSELVES AS THE GREATEST TEAM IN NFL HISTORY.  BILLS FANS RECOGNIZE THE EXTRAORDINARY TALENT IN NEW ENGLAND RANKS.  UNDER TOM BRADY AND COACH BILL BELICHICK THEY ARE LIKELY TO REMAIN ATOP THE AFC EAST. CONGRATULATING OUR DIVISION RIVAL FOR THEIR COLOSSAL VICTORY, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

Anticipation is running high in the countdown to Super Bowl LI.  The Patriots take on the Falcons in Houston for the championship game.  New England makes yet another Super Bowl appearance.  The Bills perennial nemesis in the AFC East will be lead by quarterback Tom Brady, back from the Deflategate suspension.  Former Buffalo offensive lineman Andy Levitre will be playing for Atlanta.  BILLS FANS RECOGNIZE THAT THE PATRIOTS ARE LIKELY TO REMAIN ATOP THE DIVISION FOR AS LONG AS BRADY CONTINUES TO PLAY.  OUR SHORT-TERM HOPE IS FOR FUTURE WILDCARD BERTHS.   LOOKING FORWARD TO ENJOYING THE BIG GAME,  WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

Terry Pegula is satisfied with new head coach Sean McDermott thus far.  Speaking on the John Murphy show the Bills owner likes what he sees.  Pegula said McDermott is thorough, hard working, and a good person.  He is comfortable with his choice of experienced assistant coaches.  Pegula spent Super Bowl week in Houston.  However, he is returning to his Florida home to watch the game.  PEGULA SPORTS HIS STEADY, EASY-GOING DEMEANOR.  HIS SINCERITY IN PURCHASING THE BILLS AND SABRES MUST NOW BE MATCHED BY INSPIRED MANAGEMENT OF THE FRANCHISES.  WITH GRATITUDE FOR HIS COMMITMENT TO WESTERN NEW YORK, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.

The Bills reportedly have “significant interest” in Tony Romo.  The former starting quarterback for Dallas may be available in exchange for a high draft pick.  Romo has the experience to lead the Bills to the playoffs.  However, at age 36 he only has a few playing years left.  With Tyrod Taylor’s future in doubt, Buffalo is shopping for a name quarterback. LANDING ROMO WOULD BE A SMART MOVE FOR THE BILLS.  HE COULD  MAKE US PLAYOFF CONTENDERS WHILE THE TEAM DEVELOPS A YOUNG QUARTERBACK.  HOPING THAT MANAGEMENT DOES THE RIGHT THING, WE ARE ALL 1BUFFALO.
