Lawson and Felton Cut By Bills

Linebacker Manny Lawson and fullback Jerome Felton were cut by the Bills.  They and 19 others were released on Friday as Buffalo trimmed the roster in advance of Sunday’s deadline.  Making the grade was hometown favorite Glenn Gronkowski who can start as tight end or fullback.  He joins older brothers Rob and Dan as the NFL’s only trio of brothers.  WE SALUTE THE COACHES ON THEIR ROSTER MOVES.  FELTON FAILED TO IMPRESS AND LAWSON WAS HOBBLED BY INJURIES.  WE WISH THEM AND THE OTHERS WELL IN THE NEXT PHASE OF THEIR CAREERS.

The Bills fell to the Lions 31 – 0 in a blowout at Ford Field.  The preseason finale was a fiasco from start to finish.  Both the offense and defense turned in weak performances.  One bright spot was the play of Glenn Gronkowski, who deserves to make the team.  It’s back to the drawing board as attention turns to the regular season opener versus Baltimore on September 11th.  BILLS FANS CAN ONLY HOPE THIS WAS AN OFF NIGHT.  THE PRESEASON IS BEST FORGOTTEN AS THE REAL WORK BEGINS.

ESPN commentator John Clayton says there are 8 blue chip Bills Players.  They are Marcell Dareus, Ronald Darby, and Stephon Gilmore on defense, and LeSean McCoy, Eric Wood, Richie Incognito, Cordy Glenn, and Sammy Watkins on offense.  Together they represent the cream of Buffalo’s squad.  THE BILLS HAVE EXCEPTIONAL TALENT IN THEIR RANKS.  THEY HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A WILD CARD CONTENDER.  MAYBE THIS WILL BE THE YEAR THE PLAYOFF DOUGHT IS BROKEN.

The Bills reduced their roster to 75 yesterday at 4 P.M.  9 players were cut to meet the mandated maximum.  Among those let go were Reid Ferguson, Greg Little, and Austin Trainor.  Hometown favorite Robert Kugler from Orchard Park was also waived.  Coach Rex Ryan expressed regret at having to cut many talented players.  WE THANK THE GUYS FOR THEIR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION AND WISH THEM WELL IN THEIR CAREERS.  TOGETHER WE ARE 1BUFFALO.

Rex Ryan requires his players to stand for the national anthem.  The Bills head coach explained it is a sign of respect for the men and women in the armed forces.  This was in response to the controversy surrounding San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s refusal  to stand for the anthem.  RYAN IS RIGHT THAT ALL NFL PLAYERS MUST STAND UP FOR THEIR COUNTRY AND ITS ANTHEM. THE NFL HAS THE BACK OF ALL THOSE IN UNIFORM.

The buzz is whether there is a Gronk in the Bills future.  The prospects of fullback Glenn Gronkowski making the team are heightened with the loss of tight end Chris Gragg for the season.  The 6’3″, 234 pound Gronkowski was signed by Buffalo after going undrafted.  The hometown favorite has a chance of surviving the upcoming cuts.  IT WOULD BE A GREAT DIVISION RIVALRY FOR THE BILLS TO HAVE THEIR OWN GRONK IN UNIFORM PLAYING AGAINST OLDER BROTHER ROB, THE BEST TIGHT END IN NFL HISTORY.

Injuries continue to plague the Bills.  Both Jonathan Dowling and Chris Gragg had torn ACLs in the Washington game.  They are out for the foreseeable future.  A string of hard luck injuries have sidelined many of the most talented players.  THE BILLS NEED TO PULL TOGETHER AND SHOW RESOLVE IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY.  TOGETHER WE ARE 1BUFFALO.

The Bills fell to the Redskins 21 – 16 last night in Landover, Maryland.  Coach Rex Ryan surprised by keeping most of his starters out of the game.  Tyrod Taylor played only the first 2 drives before taking a hard hit.  Sammy Watkins made a brief appearance in his return to action.  Ryan was wise to avoid injury to his starting lineup.  IT’S BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AS BUFFALO PREPARES FOR THURSDAY’S PRESEASON FINALE AGAINST DETROIT.

Bills starters will see action in tonight’s matchup with the Redskins.  This is Buffalo’s third preseason game, known as the dress rehearsal for the regular season.  Expect Sammy Watkins to be in uniform and play.  The coaches will get a last look before roster cuts begin.  A lot is at stake for Rex Ryan, whose days will be numbered if the Bills falter.  THIS IS THE CONTEST WE ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR. FANS WILL GET THEIR FIRST LOOK AT THE 2016 STARTERS.  GO BUFFALO!

Rex Ryan is carrying 30 extra pounds since his brother joined the team.  The Bills head coach has packed it on after his twin Rob became assistant head coach – defense.  Ryan has long struggled with weight issues.  ESPN did a feature on how the Ryan brothers and other Bills staffers take daily nature walks in an effort to shed pounds.  HERE’S HOPING THAT REX AND ROB ARE SUCCESSFUL BOTH ON THE FIELD AND SLIMMING DOWN.
